This weekend’s big storm might have played havoc throughout the region, but it couldn’t prevent students across the state from covering high school sporting events.
And their work sure did pay off.
Games played late Friday afternoon featured skies of pink and red as the storm approached. When the clouds finally opened up Friday and the rains continued into Saturday, the student photgraphers were still on the job covering their teams.
The best of their work — submitted as part of the Globe’s one-of-a-kind (and free) sports photojournalism program — can be seen below in this week’s photo gallery. More than 75 pictures are on display this week, taken by more than 25 students.
The Globe program is open to any high school student in Massachusetts, and they can join at any time. The first step: Simply sign up here.
