NEWTON, Mass. – A second-half goal from Addy Kalaw proved to be the difference as the Boston College women’s soccer team defeated Dartmouth, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon at the Newton Soccer Complex.
Kalaw broke the scoreless deadlock in the 71st minute, finding the back of the net for the third time this season. The junior’s finish gave the Eagles a 1-0 advantage with just under 20 minutes remaining.
The Eagles’ defense held strong throughout the match, limiting Dartmouth to three shots on target. Faith Fenwick made three saves to earn the first shutout of her career and her fourth win of the season.
Boston College controlled possession for much of the match, holding a 52 percent advantage while outshooting the Big Green, 17-13. The Eagles also held a 10-3 edge in corner kicks.
The Eagles improve to 4-0-0 on the season with the victory, remaining unbeaten through the first four games of the campaign.
