CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Led by Boston College lacrosse head coach Acacia Walker-Weinstein, Team USA begins The Nissin Foods 2026 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship held in Tokyo.
The Stars and Stripes are in search for a fifth straight title, while games will be streamed on World Lacrosse TV.
Representing the Eagles along with coach Walker are associate head coach Jen Kent, Shea Baker ’26, Shea Dolce ’26, Emma LoPinto ’25, Sydney Scales ’24, Cassidy Weeks ’24, Charlotte North ’22, Sam Apuzzo ’19 and newly-hired assistant coach, Kenzie Kent ’19.
Coach Walker was announced as the Senior National Team head coach in 2024, helping Team USA win multiple international tournaments leading up to the World Championship.
In addition, Hunter Roman ’24 will play in the World Championship with Puerto Rico and Catherine Conway ’12 is an assistant coach for Ireland.
Game 6 – USA 16, Canada 4
– Team USA secured a fifth straight world title with a 12-goal victory on Sunday morning in Japan.
– Dolce, who was named Player of the Game, stopped eight shots for a .667 save percentage. The goalie led the tournament in save percentage with a .632 clip (facing at least 35 shots).
– Apuzzo led the team with a hat trick and five points, while Kent scored two goals and LoPinto dished out two assists. Scales also found the back of the net.
– The United States has now won 36 consecutive games in senior field competition, its last loss coming in the 2005 gold medal game against Jen Adams-led Australia in Annapolis, Md.
– The Americans defeated six opponents by a combined margin of 121-27, or an average score of 20-5.
– Dolce and Scales were named to the All-World Team.
– Apuzzo was third on the team and tied for sixth with 20 points (11 G, 9 A) and LoPinto was fourth with 19 points (12 G, 7 A).

Asked if this team delivered on her ambition of being the greatest in women’s lacrosse history, Walker-Weinstein said yes, resoundingly.

Game 5 – USA 19, Israel 7
– Team USA earned a fifth straight berth to the world championship title game after a 12-goal win over Israel in the semifinals.
– LoPinto was one of three players with a hat trick, as she collected three goals.
– Sydney Scales collected three caused turnovers with a pair of ground balls, and Kent scored twice.
– The U.S., which has now won 35 consecutive games in event history dating back to 2009, will attempt to become the first team to win five consecutive titles. The U.S. beat Australia in the 2009 final and has since beaten Canada in the 2013, 2017 and 2022 championships.
– USA faces Canada on Sunday at 6 a.m. ET for gold.

Game 4 – USA 23, Puerto Rico 4
– Team USA started the game on an 8-0 run and never looked back in the 19-goal victory.
– LoPinto (4g, 3a) and Apuzzo (4g, 1a) dominated the game with a combined eight goals and four assists, with LoPinto earning Player of the Game honors.
– Kent chipped in with a pair of goals as well, and Dolce made five saves in the first half for a .71 save percentage.
– Dolce is second in the tournament with a .70 save percentage, LoPinto is tied for fifth with nine goals and 14 points, and Apuzzo is tied for third with six assists and fifth with 14 points.
– Team USA has outscored its opponents 86-16 through four games.
– Team USA aims for a title berth on Friday at 7 p.m. ET against Israel.

Game 3 – USA 23, Chinese Taipei 2
– The Stars & Stripes earned the top seed in Pool A following a convincing win over Chinese Taipei on Tuesday morning.
– USA led 6-0 after the first period, while scoring the game’s first 10 goals.
– Apuzzo posted four points with two goals and two assists, and LoPinto tallied two goals.
– Dolce stopped a pair of stopped a pair of shots in the victory. Baker totaled one assist, a caused turnover and a ground ball.
– Team USA returns to action on Wednesday morning at 5:30 p.m. ET against Puerto Rico.

Game 2 – USA 22, Haudenosaunee 5
– Team USA erupted for 22 goals in its highest scoring game since 2009 to improve to 2-0 in the World Championship.
– LoPinto helped the Stars & Stripes with four points, netting a pair of goals & assists.
– Kent registered two scores with a helper for three points, and Apuzzo found the back of the net once.
– Scales tallied a pair of caused turnovers and Dolce posted three saves en route to being named Player of the Game.
– Through two contests, Dolce leads the tournament with a .70 save percentage (facing at least 10 shots).
– Team USA has outscored its first two opponents, 40-10, and returns to action on Tuesday morning at 5:30 a.m. against Chinese Taipei in the final game of pool play.

– The Stars and Stripes got off to a solid start with the 13-goal win in their first game of the World Lacrosse Women’s Championship.
– It was a balanced effort with five players scoring multiple goals.
– Cassidy Weeks scored twice, while Sam Apuzzo, Emma LoPinto, and Kenzie Kent found the back of the net.
– Kent and Apuzzo tied for the team lead with two assists, as the co-captains tied for the team lead with three points apiece. Baker added an assist as well.
