Rising senior tight end Chase Phifer committed to Boston College football on July 2, announcing his decision on Twitter/X.
The 6-4, 220-pound Phifer is rated as a three-star prospect and a top-75 tight end nationwide in the 247Sports composite. He selected Boston College ahead of more than 20 listed offers.
Phifer was among Northeast Florida’s best last year at leaping high to bring down passes in traffic, finishing the season with 32 receptions for 500 yards as Nease qualified for the Florida High School Athletic Association Region 1-6A semifinals.
Also a productive performer on the basketball court, Phifer averaged 14.2 points and 8.3 rebounds for Nease boys hoops during the winter.
He joins his cousin, rising junior quarterback Aiden Phifer (Northwestern), and safety Kash Kolbow (UCF) as Panthers announcing their college commitments since the spring.
Nease, which went 9-3 last year, is scheduled to compete alongside Bartram Trail, Beachside, Fletcher, Mandarin and Ponte Vedra in FHSAA District 2-5A beginning in August.
