LYNN, Mass. (WWLP) – A $2 million lottery winner in Massachusetts matched all five numbers and the Power Play in one of the largest Powerball jackpots in history.
The winning numbers drawn on Wednesday, August 12th were 26, 67, 69, 66, and 4 and red Powerball 9. The winning $1.040 billion ticket was bought at a Hy-Vee gas station in Quincy, Illinois. It wasn’t immediately clear if the winner has come forward yet.
Will we ever know who won $1.04 billion Powerball jackpot?
A ticket sold in Massachusetts also matched all the numbers except the Powerball number, but won $2 million because of the “Power Play” multiplier option costing an extra $1 per play.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, the $2 million winner came forward to claim her prize. Almasa Cajic of Lynn told Lottery officials that she plans to buy a home in Massachusetts and Bosnia.
