  • 2026 World Snooker Championship: Saturday, Apr. 18 – Monday, May 4

  • Daily start times: 10am, 2pm & 7pm BST / 5am, 9am & 2pm ET

The 2026 World Snooker Championship live streams represent the end of the 2025/26 snooker season and the world’s best players will again descend the iconic Crucible Theater in Sheffield for the biggest prize in baize.

Twelve months have passed since Zhao Xintong became the first Asian player to lift the famous Silver Lady, and the 29-year-old returns to the scene of his greatest triumph in decent form. The left-hander has won three ranking titles this year, including the most recent Tour Championship in Manchester where he inflicted a 10-3 final defeat on Judd Trump, but arguably his biggest difficulty will be to overcome the Crucible Curse. No first-time winner has successfully defended their crown since the tournament moved to Sheffield in 1977.

Principal among those hoping the curse lives up to its billing will be Trump and Ronnie O’Sullivan. Trump, the 2019 winner has been consistent all season, while the Rocket is seeking a record eighth world title to go past the great Stephen Hendry, but has only played occasionally all season.

Fellow Class of 92 members with O’Sullivan, John Higgins and Mark Williams will also look to go deep. If the latter wins his first-round match, he’ll face O’Sullivan in the last 16. Williams’ fellow Welshman Matthew Stevens, a former runner-up, has qualified.

This will be the first BBC tournament since the death of legendary commentator John Virgo, so expect plenty of eulogies and questions of ‘where’s the cue ball going?’.
