Was Tyler Lockett the player for the New England Patriots with the No. 64 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft? There’s a strong case to be made that he should have been.

However, the Patriots were resolute on selecting safety Jordan Richards at No. 64 overall. The Stanford product played in two stints for the Patriots from 2015-17, as well as in 2019. Richards recorded a total of two forced fumbles and three passes defended in a Patriots uniform.

New England was in a position to go in a different direction than Richards to add to their wide receiver room in 2015. Let’s take a look at Lockett’s body of work in the NFL, as New England gets a look at a do-over of the No. 64 overall pick from 2015.

The Patriots opted not to select Lockett in place of Richards. Lockett went for 1,000 yards in four consecutive seasons with the Seahawks from 2019-22. The Kansas State product won the Super Bowl with Seattle in 2014. He was also a First-Team All-Pro honoree in his rookie season, as well as a two-time Second-Team All-Pro the following two seasons as a kick returner.
