    About the Eagles

    Last Time Out

A hot-shooting first quarter set the tone for BC in a 92-52 win over Rider on Wednesday. The Eagles shot 52.9 percent from the field with six treys, while four players scored at least six points. BC jumped out to a 22-6 lead midway through the first quarter after a Grier jumper. McDaniel scored the final five points of the period, giving BC a 31-9 lead after the first. Athena Tomlinson dished out a career-high 10 assists with 10 points for her first-career double-double, while she added four boards. Teionni McDaniel paced four players in double figures with a game and career-high 21 points on 6-of-11 shooting with six rebounds. Lily Carmody tallied 13 points with six off the glass and two assists. Jocelyne Grier came off the bench for her second straight game in double figures with 10. Ava McGee led the way with eight rebounds and nine points – both of which are personal bests.

    A Win Would

    – Give BC a 4-1 mark.

    – Give the Eagles a sixth straight win in the series.

    – Move to 29-33 against the Friars.

    – Give BC a second straight 4-1 record through the first five games.

    By the Numbers

3 – McDaniel is one of three players in the ACC and 30 in the nation to average at least 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game.

11 – BC has 11 newcomers with six transfers, four freshmen and lacrosse alum, Emma LoPinto.

57 – The Eagles have outscored their opponents by 57 (72-15) in transition.

80 – BC is 55-4 under Coach Mac when scoring 80 or more points.

84.3 – The Eagles are shooting 84.3 percent from the line over the last three games.

    Let it Fly

    – The Eagles have attempted 110 3-pointers through the first games, which is the most under Coach Mac, while the 38 makes are the most as well in her tenure through four games.

    – BC is averaging 9.8 makes per game from beyond the arc and shooting 36.1 percent.

    – Six players have made at least five 3-pointers led by Jocelyne Grier with seven makes.

    Floor General Carousel

    – Athena Tomlinson is currently second in the ACC averaging 7.5 assists per game, while her 30 assists are first in the league.

    – Despite the early start, the Eagles have seen their fair share of point guards near the top of the assist leaderboard.

    – Since 2022-23, BC has had a point guard finish in the top five in assists per game, while having a point guard finish in the top 10 in assists per game in seven of coach Mac’s seasons.

    What to Watch for

    – The Eagles scored a season-high 25 points off turnovers against Rider, while averaging 20.3 points off turnovers through four games. Howard scored 26 points off turnovers in their win over Providence. Watch if BC can capitalize off the Friars’ turnovers.

    – BC has started strong in the first quarter, outscoring its opponents by 10 points in the opening period – the highest margin of any period. The Eagles scored 31 points in the opening frame against Rider on Wednesday. Watch if they can get off to a fast start on Saturday.

    – Since shooting 11-for-20 from the line in the season opener against Holy Cross, the Eagles are shooting 84.3 percent (54-64) from the charity stripe. See if they can continue to excel from the line.

    – Teionni McDaniel has scored in double figures in all four games, including a pair of 20-point outings. The graduate is seventh in the ACC in scoring at 16.5 points per game. Watch if she can continue her scoring ways.

    –  Athena Tomlinson is first in the ACC and second in the league with 30 assists, while she is averaging 7.5 assists and creating 28.8 points per game. Watch if she can continue to create for her teammates.

    Scouting Providence

    –  The Friars are coming off a 65-40 win over Central Connecticut State.

    – Sabou Gueye led all scorers with 16 points, while Teneisia Brown registered a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds.

    – Providence returns two players from last season, while bringing in 11 newcomers.

    – The team finished 13-19 last season with a 6-12 finish in the Big East.

    Series History

    – The Eagles are 28-33 in the all-time series against the Friars, but have won the past five meetings and are 19-3 over the last 22 games in the series. BC has won the last two games on Providence’s home floor.
