CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College women’s basketball continues to build its roster with the signing of 5-10 guard Daniele Paunksnyte from Lithuania.

“Daniele has competed at the highest levels of international basketball and proven she can perform among the best,” said head coach Kate Popovec-Goss. “She adds depth at the point guard position, and her scoring ability will elevate our offense. She plays with moxie and confidence – qualities we value in our ball-dominant guards. A true competitor, her winning mentality will strengthen our culture. Welcome to The Heights, Daniele!”

Paunksnyte most recently competed in the WBBL with Kibirkstis Vilnius, where she averaged a career-high 7.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists during the 2025-26 season.

On the international stage, Paunksnyte spent four years with Lithuania’s U20 National Team from 2022-25, averaging 13.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.1 assists. She delivered a standout performance at the 2025 FIBA U20 EuroBasket, averaging 17.9 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.9 assists across seven games.

Paunksnyte ranked fourth among all scorers in the tournament and reached double figures in four contests. She highlighted the event with a record-breaking 43-point performance against Israel – the highest single-game total in FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket history, marking just the third 40-point game ever and the first since 2016. She added nine rebounds, four assists, and two steals in the win.

She also played a pivotal role in leading Lithuania to its first-ever medal at the U20 Women’s EuroBasket, earning silver. Paunksnyte capped the tournament with a 21-point performance against Spain and was named to the All-Star Five, recognizing the top five players in the competition.

Paunksnyte also competed with the Lithuanian Senior National Team in the FIBA Women’s EuroBasket Qualifiers, where she averaged 6.0 points and hit five of her seven shot attempts with three assists and as a plus-23 through two contests.
