Two weeks are officially set on the high school football schedule and plenty of stars showed just what they were capable of on the gridiron. On the prep school side, most programs remained idle, but a few did get a head start on the season.
Some programs that struggled in Week 1 reversed their fortunes in Week 2, including a Bay State Conference contender who rebounded quite well as their new quarterback broke out.
Here’s a look at who had statement performance in Week 2:
DIV. 1
— Ethan Edmunds went 8-of-13 for 150 yards and three touchdowns, Christian Holmes had two touchdowns and more than 100 all-purpose yards while Jayden Ojukwu had two catches for 55 yards and a touchdown while adding four tackles, three pass breakups and an interception in Franklin’s 31-14 victory over Brockton.
— Tyandre Monteiro-Cooper had three sacks in Weymouth’s 10-7 win over Diman.
— Domenic Busa had 15 carries for 80 yards and two touchdowns in Newton North’s 20-14 victory over Newton South.
— Penn State commit Will Wood threw five touchdowns, upping his season total to 11, in Xaverian’s 53-6 win over Everett.
DIV. 2
— Gillian Allen converted two field goals and three extra points, Nick Rotondo had a punt block that he returned for a touchdown while Logan Bovill went 8-of-12 for 206 yards and a touchdown in Bridgewater-Raynham’s 27-0 victory over Plymouth South.
— Jamie Champa had 23 carries for 117 yards and two touchdowns in Lincoln-Sudbury’s 12-7 win over Needham.
— Cole Doyle went 16-of-27 for 261 yards and two touchdowns while adding 71 rushing yards and a touchdown in North Quincy’s 33-21 victory over Oliver Ames.
— Christian Simmons had 187 rushing yards and four catches for 66 yards and scored three touchdowns while Kingston Rust went 9-of-19 for 139 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 102 yards and two touchdowns in Catholic Memorial’s 50-48 overtime victory over Christian Brother’s Academy (NY).
— Sean Okhouzgbon had 30 carries for 203 yards and two touchdowns in Beverly’s 35-16 win over Revere.
— Titan Haywood went 12-of-16 for 160 yards and scored five total touchdowns, while Ryan Ranucci had six catches for 116 yards with two touchdowns in Waltham’s 43-0 victory over Chelsea.
DIV. 3
— Jayden DuBois had 18 carries for 105 yards and a touchdown, while Sean Lane scored three total touchdowns in Milton’s 35-22 win over Natick.
— Felipe Pinheiro had 105 rushing yards and a touchdown in Barnstable’s 26-0 victory over Minnechaug. Also in the win, EJ Randolph had a receiving touchdown and an interception while Anthony Parrella totaled 16 tackles
— Brady Shuffain went 12-of-18 for 281 yards and five touchdowns while Joseph Seaman had 256 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns in Sharon/Dedham’s 40-18 win over Wareham.
— Bobby Walker rushed for 104 yards and recorded seven tackles and an interception while Quinn Frazier had 120 rushing yards and 39 passing yards in Whitman-Hanson’s 22-7 victory over Stoughton.
DIV. 4
— Brajae Walton had 12 rushes for 107 yards and a touchdown to go with four catches for 116 yards and two touchdowns, while Mikey Johansson went 15-of-21 for 229 yards and four touchdowns in Wayland’s 35-14 victory over Ashland.
— Antoine Jameson had four rushes for 80 yards and two touchdowns while adding two catches for 48 yards in Canton’s 17-0 win over Norwood.
— Grayson Foley had 19 carries for 175 yards, returned a punt for a score and finished with four total touchdowns in Scituate’s 35-14 victory over Norwell.
— Will Harrison threw three touchdown passes and rushed for two in Tewksbury’s 35-21 win over Methuen.
DIV. 5
— Doyle Delaney finished with eight tackles, including four tackles for a loss, while also getting three quarterback hurries in Swampscott’s 28-8 victory over Lynn English.
— Liam Pickup had four carries for 136 yards, Jackson Williams had eight carries for 102 yards, two catches for 47 yards and scored two total touchdowns while Jackson Ponte had 95 passing yards and two total touchdowns in Fairhaven’s 35-13 victory over Plymouth North.
— Ryan Beede had 21 carries for 184 yards and two touchdowns, Isaiah Robles had 139 yards and two touchdowns and Lucas DeOliveira had 16 carries for 107 yards and two touchdowns in Northeast’s 42-22 win over Winthrop.
— Jayden Pineda had nine carries for 130 yards and two touchdowns while forcing a fumble and blocking a punt in Watertown’ 42-7 win over Carver. Quarterback Coleman Keuchkarian McKeen notably went 9-of-10 for 150 yards and two touchdowns.
DIV. 6
— Benjamin Baptiste scored four rushing touchdowns in Old Rochester’s 42-14 victory over Bishop Stang.
— Brock Barry had 10 tackles, Liam Lopez had two interceptions and Sam Araujo had five tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery in Bellingham’s 31-8 win over Westwood.
— Grayden Campbell went 5-of-8 for 150 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 34 yards, while Craig Campbell had three rushes for 75 yards and a touchdown in Dennis-Yarmouth’s 20-6 win over Mashpee.
— Andrew Kiricoples went 10-of-14 for 170 yards and four touchdowns, and Nelson Ogheneruemu had 17 carries for 154 yards with two touchdowns in Bishop Fenwick’s 42-6 victory over Putnam.
DIV. 7
— Cam Testa rushed for three touchdowns and a successful two-point conversion in East Boston’s 26-8 win over Brighton.
— Joe Puleo had 16 carries for 141 yards and a touchdown while Connor Scialdone had 17 carries for 102 yards and a touchdown in Amesbury’s 32-15 victory over Pentucket.
DIV. 8
— Jadiel Ortega had 176 yards with two total touchdowns in Lynn Tech’s 39-0 win over Montachusett.
PREPS
— Steven Joseph Jr. had 20 carries for 116 yards, while Rory Funke had 18 carries for 104 yards and a touchdown, going 7-of-10 for 66 yards and another score in Dexter Southfield’s 21-14 win over Suffield Academy (CT).
— Nate Ellis had 33 carries for 177 yards with three touchdowns and a successful two-point conversion in Williston Northampton’s 23-14 victory over Tabor Academy.
