    CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College women’s soccer team returns home Thursday, Sept. 10, welcoming Boston University to Newton Campus Soccer Field for a 4 p.m. matchup in the Battle of Comm. Ave. The contest will serve as BC’s Red Bandanna Game.

    LAST TIME OUT

    • Boston College remained unbeaten with a 2-1 victory at Army West Point on Sept. 6, improving to 6-0-0 on the season.
    • Addy Kalaw opened the scoring in the 31st minute with her fourth goal of the season, assisted by Emily Mara.
    • Mara doubled the lead just 63 seconds into the second half, recording her fourth goal of the season.
    • Army cut the deficit to 2-1 on a penalty kick in the 50th minute, but the Eagles held on for the victory.
    • BC dominated statistically, holding a 21-7 advantage in shots and an 11-1 edge in corner kicks while controlling 60 percent of possession.
    • Olivia Shippee made her first start of the season and recorded three saves.

    UNBEATEN START

    • Boston College enters Thursday’s matchup with a 6-0-0 record, marking an unbeaten start through the first six games of the season.
    • The Eagles have scored 20 goals through six games, averaging 3.33 goals per game, while allowing just five.
    • BC has outshot its opponents 107-55 and holds a 50-24 advantage in corner kicks.
    • The Eagles have recorded 17 assists on their 20 goals, with 10 goals scored in each half.
    • Emily Mara leads BC with 11 points on four goals and three assists.
    • Nicolette Kiorpes has a team-high five goals and 10 points, while Addyson Kalaw has four goals and two assists for 10 points.
    • Sophie Reale has added two goals and four assists for eight points.

    WATKINS EARNS 100TH CAREER WIN

    • Head coach Chris Watkins earned his 100th career victory in BC’s 5-1 win at Vermont on Sept. 3.
    • Watkins reached the milestone as the Eagles improved to 5-0-0 on the season.
    • The victory marked the latest milestone in Watkins’ coaching career and helped BC remain unbeaten through the first five games of the 2026 campaign.

    A LOOK AT BOSTON UNIVERSITY

    • Boston University enters Thursday’s matchup with a 2-4-1 record after playing to a 1-1 draw against Providence on Sept. 6.
    • The Terriers have scored 13 goals through seven games while allowing 13, averaging 1.86 goals per game.
    • BU has recorded 92 shots, including 49 on goal, and has earned 35 corner kicks.
    • Jaiden Schultz and Kat Slott lead the Terriers with three goals apiece. Schultz has seven points on three goals and one assist, while Slott has five points on three goals and two assists.
    • Olivia Avellar has added two goals and four points, while Georgia Prouty has one goal and two assists.
    • In goal, Jill Humphreys has started five games and owns a 1.40 goals-against average with a .650 save percentage.

    SERIES HISTORY

    • Thursday marks the 30th all-time meeting between Boston College and Boston University.
    • The Eagles hold a 24-5-1 advantage in the all-time series and have won the last seven meetings.
    • BC owns a 14-0-1 record at home against the Terriers.
    • The most recent meeting came on Sept. 4, 2022, with the Eagles earning a 3-1 victory at Nickerson Field.
    • Boston College’s last loss to BU came on Aug. 24, 2014, when the Terriers earned a 2-1 victory.
    • The Eagles’ largest margin of victory in the series is 7-0, recorded on Oct. 9, 1983.
