    CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College lacrosse aims for a third straight win on Wednesday when it faces Duke at 5 p.m. in Durham. 

    About the Eagles

    Last Time Out

    BC handed No. 9 Clemson an 11-9 loss on Saturday, registering it first top-10 victory of the season. The Eagles relied on a balanced effort highlighted by a dominant defensive performance. The Eagles forced a season-high nine caused turnovers, led by Devon Russell and Michaela O’Connor’s three CTs. O’Connor added a career-high four ground balls, while five different Eagles recorded at least one CT. The defense clamped down after halftime, allowing just three second-half goals and holding Clemson scoreless for an 18:29 stretch. Boston College also controlled the draw circle, winning the battle 15-7. Abbey Herod collected seven draw controls, becoming just the seventh player in program history to surpass 200 career draws. Offensively, Kylee Colbert delivered a career performance with four goals. Marissa White (2 goals, 1 assist) and Molly Driscoll (2 goals, 1 assist) each tallied three points, while Lily Kondas recorded a career-best three points on one goal and two assists. Russell impacted both ends of the field, adding two goals, two ground balls and two draw controls to her three caused turnovers.

    A Win Would

    – Give BC a 3-3 mark and 3-1 record in the ACC.

    – Give the Eagles a third straight win. 

    – Improve BC to 10-5 over the last 15 games against Duke. 

    Turning the Corner

     -The Eagles have gotten back on track over the last two games with their back-to-back wins.

    – The defense has 16 caused turnovers during the stretch (11 in the first three games), while BC has assisted on 18 of its 30 goals (13 on 30 in the first three games).

    – Five different Eagles have at least five points, with Marissa White (8 points) and Molly Driscoll (8 points) leading the charge.

    – BC has shown the ability to finish strong, outscoring its opponents in the second half 17-5 in the two wins.

    By the Numbers

    5 – Giulia Colarusso was the first player since Charlotte North in 2022 to post a game with at least five goals and five draw controls. She posted five goals with seven draw controls in the win over Florida State.

    7 – Abbey Herod is one of seven players in school history to reach 200 career draw controls. 

    +12 – BC is plus-12 in the second half in scoring margin over the last two games, outscoring its opponents 17-5. 

    67.8% – The Eagles have a 67.8 draw control win rate, which is up from last season at 62.48. BC has won the circle in four of five games, highlighted by a combined plus-28 draw control margin in the last two games. 

    544 – Shea Dolce has 544 career saves heading into the week. 

    Eagles in the Pros

    The Championship Series for the Women’s Lacrosse League is underway, with five Eagles playing on the hometown team for the Boston Guard. Charlotte North, Cassidy Weeks, Courtney Taylor, Rachel Hall and Dempsey Arsenault are in the midst of an 0-2 start. 

    Scouting Duke (4-2, 1-1 ACC)

    –  The Blue Devils are on a three-game win streak following a 16-7 win over California. 

    –  Avery Doran leads the team with 27 points (17 goals, 10 assists). 

    –  She’s one of three Blue Devils with at least 20 points, with Bella Goodwin (21 points) and Ava Biancardi (20 points) rounding out the leaders. 

    – Hope Shoudel has started in all six contests, posting an 11.68 goals against average with a .311 save percentage. 

    Series History

    Boston College is 10-15 against the Blue Devils, but are 10-4 in the last 14 matchups and winners of the last five by an average margin of 10.6 goals.
