CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Following the 2026 MLB Draft, former Eagle Jack Toomey signed his first professional contract with the MLB’s New York Mets.
 
Toomey finished the 2026 season as the team leader in triples with six, which ties the program record for most in a single season, as well as the leader in on-base percentage with .445. He was third in doubles (14) and runs (52), and fourth in hits (55), steals (18), and batting average (.316).
 
Toomey is the second Eagle from the 2026 squad to sign a professional contract, joining A.J. Colarusso, who also signed with the New York Mets.
