CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Following the 2026 MLB Draft, former Eagle A.J. Colarusso signed his first professional contract with the MLB’s New York Mets.
Colarusso just capped a record-breaking career on the Heights where he finished as the program’s leader in career starts with 50, fourth in innings pitched with 243, and sixth in strikeouts with 213.
The Leominster, Massachusetts native broke the career starts record on April 17 against Duke when he made his 44th career start. In the seven-inning game, Colarusso earned his first complete game after throwing all seven innings, allowing just one run on three hits and four strikeouts.
The 2026 season was a career year for Colarusso as he posted career bests for strikeouts (77), innings pitched (83), starts (16), opponent batting average (.276), and wins (5).
Colarusso is the first Eagle from the 2026 team to sign a professional contract.
