Trailing by as much as six in the second half, the Eagles climbed back to within one thanks to a 6-1 run spearheaded by Colarusso and K. Colbert, who scored a combined four goals during the surge.
After Colarusso sliced the gap to one, neither team scored for the final 4:13 of the contest, leading to the hosts’ win.
Stony Brook started the game on a 4-0 run, which was the score heading into the second period until White’s first strike of the contest sliced the lead to three. However, Stony Brook put together a 3-0 spurt
to stretch the lead to six, 7-1. K. Colbert scored the final two goals of the first half to slice the deficit to four, 7-3.
The Seawolves tacked on two straight in the first 4:47 of the third period to extend their lead to six before the Eagles’ run.
