OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Boston College sophomore shortstop Julio Solier was named a Brooks Wallace Player of the Year Award Semifinalist this morning by the College Baseball Foundation.

Solier is the second Eagle this season to be honored by the foundation after A.J. Colarusso was named to the Pitcher of the Year Award Watchlist.

The Puerto Rico native is hitting .346 this season to lead Boston College. He also leads the Eagles with 63 hits and 22 stolen bases. Solier also has five triples this season, which is second to Jack Toomey, but sixth-most nationally. He ranks 14th in the country in hits and second in the ACC. His 22 stolen bases are the 39th most nationally and fifth in the ACC, and two away from the sixth most in a single season in BC history.
