Those interested can now register for the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition’s Against the Tide Swim, Run, Walk events in Hopkinton and Brewster.

The 34th annual event at Hopkinton State Park is scheduled for June 20, while the 27th annual event at Nickerson State Park in Brewster takes place June 27, according to a community announcement.

The event includes USATF-certified 5K and 10K runs, USMS-sanctioned 1-mile swim, recreational and competitive 1-mile swims, a half-mile recreational swim and a 3-mile fitness walk. Participants also may join the event virtually between June 20-27, according to the announcement.

In-person participants receive a T-shirt and goodie bag. Prizes will be awarded to the in-person top swim and run finishers, as well as the highest fundraising team and the three highest fundraising individuals.

From left, Phoebe Snyder, Brooke Merrill and Lyla Donahue, all ninth graders at Hopkinton High School freshmen, are co-chairs for the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition’s 34th Annual Against the Tide Swim, Run, Walk, which will take place June 20 at Hopkinton State Park.

Cheryl Osimo, executive director of the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition, said the event is meant to bring the community together.

“I’m excited to see the incredible energy that participants bring to the 2026 Against the Tide events,” Osimo said in a statement. “Each year, this event reminds us how powerful our community can be when we come together for prevention. Whether you join us in Hopkinton, on Cape Cod, or virtually, please know that your participation truly makes an impact.”

Three Hopkinton High School freshmen — Phoebe Snyder, Brooke Merrill and Lyla Donahue — are serving as student co-chairs for the Hopkinton event.

“In our roles, we’ve been helping mobilize student volunteers, spreading awareness in our community, and supporting fundraising efforts for breast cancer prevention,” the three young women said in a statement.

The event is open to adults and children of all ages and abilities. Registration can be completed online at mbcc.org/against-the-tide or in person the morning of the event. The in-person registration fee is $40 per participant per event, while the virtual registration fee is $20 per person for one or multiple events.
