The two suspects allegedly followed the man who hit their car, smashed his window, and viciously beat him, according to witnesses.

Two Boston men are facing assault charges after they allegedly beat up another man who accidentally hit their vehicle while trying to park, Boston police said.

Anthony Shearrion, 41, of Jamaica Plain, and Arkie Swinson, 45, of Mattapan, are both charged with assault and battery and malicious damage to a motor vehicle, according to court records. They were both arraigned Wednesday in the Dorchester division of Boston Municipal Court.

Just before 9 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a radio call about a fight at the intersection of Blue Hill Avenue and Abbot Street in Dorchester, police said in a statement. When they arrived, they found a male victim who “had a laceration on the side of his face and appeared to be bleeding from his mouth.”

The victim explained that he was trying to park his vehicle near 870 Blue Hill Ave. when he accidentally hit another parked vehicle, which Shearrion and Swinson were in. He wasn’t able to park there, so he pulled away and drove further up the street, according to police.

Shearrion and Swinson then allegedly followed the victim in their vehicle, causing him to try to flee up Abbot Street, police said. However, because that street is one-way, the victim struck two more parked vehicles.

The suspects told police that the victim hit their car and tried to flee “without exchanging paperwork,” according to police. Multiple witnesses stated that after the victim crashed into the two parked cars on Abbot Street, they saw Shearrion and Swinson smash his window, drag him out of the car, and “viciously beat him,” police said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The two suspects pleaded not guilty at their arraignments and were ordered held at Suffolk County Jail after failing to post bail. They are both due back in court April 14.
