I looked out the window, and I saw a fire on the lower back part of the deck,” neighbor William Toll said. “When you get those multiple calls, you know you have something,” Medford Fire Department Deputy Chief Bill Young said. “We saw smoke from a half-mile away. Some of the guys saw it from Everett, so we knew we had something.”The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
