Nation’s Top Runners, Jumpers and Throwers to Compete in Poland

INDIANAPOLIS – 57 athletes will represent Team USATF at the World Athletics Indoor Championships Kujawy Pomorze in Poland next week. USA Track & Field, the national governing body for track, field, road running, and race walking announced its roster today. It includes 28 men and 29 women, six of which are medalists from the 2025 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China and 21 U.S. athletes for whom this marks their first time competing on a national senior track and field team at a global championship.

Cole Hocker, the 2024 Olympic gold medalist in the 1500m and 2025 World Outdoor Championship gold medalist in the 5000m, will attempt to win his first indoor title. Hocker, who is also the 2024 World Indoor silver medalist in the 1500m, will compete in the 3000m after winning the U.S. title by three one-hundredths of a second.

2025 World Outdoor Champion Anna Hall will make her World Indoor debut. Hall will be competing in pentathlon, an event in which she holds the two highest scores in American history.

Two world record holders will wear the Team USA kit in Poland. Khaleb McRae will compete in the 400m. He set the pending world record of 44.52 last month and won the U.S. title at the U.S. Indoor Championships. Teen sensation Cooper Lutkenhaus will race the 800m. The 17-year-old broke the world under-20 record when he ran 1:44.03 in February. Lutkenhaus claimed the national title just weeks later.

Bailey Lear and Rosey Effiong will return to the relay pool to defend their gold medals in the women’s 4×400. Both will also compete in the individual 400m. Elija Godwin, member of the 2025 gold-medal winning men’s 4×400, will be a part of the relay pool seeking gold in 2026. Chase Jackson and Taliyah Brooks will be looking to upgrade their 2025 bronze medals in the shot put and the pentathlon, respectively.

Roger Steen returns in 2026 after winning the silver medal in the shot put in 2025. He will be joined by Jordan Geist, who qualified for his first World Championships by winning the World Indoor Tour this season. On the track, Luke Houser comes back to race the 1500m looking to better his bronze medal performance from last year.

Among the athletes making their global debut are 2025 NCAA Champions Jordan Anthony (60m) and Nathan Green (1500m) as well as 2025 NCAA runners-up Chloe Timberg (pole vault) and Margot Appleton (3000m).

There is one U.S. athlete competing in two events and that’s Jasmine Moore. Moore won both the triple jump and the long jump at the U.S. Championships. Moore is the first American woman to double in the horizontal jumps having done so at both the 2022 World Athletics Championships and at the 2024 Paris Olympics where she won the bronze medal in both events.
