Syracuse’s 2025 football season ended the same way it unfolded for most of the fall — with another lopsided loss, capping one of the program’s least competitive campaigns. The Orange fell 34-12 to Boston College on Saturday at the JMA Wireless Dome, closing the season on an eight-game losing streak and finishing 3-9 overall. Over that skid, Syracuse was overmatched weekly, dropping games by an average of more than four touchdowns.

The Orange and Eagles traded early field goals as both offenses leaned heavily on the run. Syracuse used a slow, methodical approach to reach the scoreboard, highlighted by a 49-yard kick from Tripp Woody and a nearly 10-minute drive powered by Dan Villari’s wildcat carries. Another Woody field goal briefly pushed the Orange ahead 6-3 before Boston College answered to send the game into halftime tied.

The second half unraveled quickly. Boston College hit Syracuse for a three-play, 79-yard scoring drive immediately out of the locker room, fueled by a 54-yard catch-and-run from Lewis Bond and a 16-yard touchdown from Turbo Richard. While Syracuse continued to stall, Bond and the Eagles kept stretching the field, eventually setting up two short touchdown runs from Jordan McDonald. Richard later added a 46-yard scoring burst as Boston College pulled away, extending its lead to 34-6 early in the fourth quarter.

Villari provided Syracuse’s lone touchdown in the final minutes, but it did little to soften the final verdict on a season defined by injuries, inconsistency and blowout losses.

I don’t think it’s even a slight exaggeration to say that what has transpired for Syracuse football this season can literally never happen again

Syracuse has never lost eight straight games (corrected the plural in this Tweet) by more combined points than it has the last eight. We’ve watched, arguably, the least competitive stretch of football in Syracuse history.

Freshman LB Antoine Deslauriers on his future at Syracuse next season:

“I can strongly say I’ll be back at Syracuse next season…I want to build something special here.”

Has not answered the question fully prior to this

Just saying: last week plus this bullshit is quite possibly the most embarrassing two-game stretch in modern Syracuse football history. Get humiliated in historic fashion last week, and then turn around and get embarrassed by a 1-10 team.

    Fucking make some goddamn changes…
