CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Boston College men’s soccer team (3-1, 0-1 ACC) fell to Virginia (2-3, 1-0 ACC), 2-0, in the opening game of ACC play on Friday night at Klöckner Stadium.
Russell Brown provided an offensive spark off the bench with three shots on goal, while Andrej Borak stopped a season-high five shots.
After a scoreless first half, the Cavaliers struck first with a shot from outside the box that beat Borak in the 49th minute.
Virginia doubled their lead in the 71st minute with a first-time volley that found the near post.
The Cavaliers held the edge in corners (7-5) and shots (8-3).
Boston College is back in action next Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. when they host St. Bonaventure in a non-conference matchup. The game will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra.
