CARY, N.C. – Boston College baseball sophomore shortstop Julio Solier has been invited to the 2026 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp, USA Baseball announced Thursday.

The Puerto Rico native becomes just the second Eagle to earn an invite to the training camp and first since Mason Pelio in 2019.

Solier will have the opportunity to earn a spot on the 2026 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team which is slated to compete in the inaugural World Collegiate Baseball Championship in Taiwan in July. A full schedule can be found here.

The final roster will be determined after a slate of exhibition games at the end of June and the annual Stars vs. Stripes series the first week of July.

The sophomore wrapped up a campaign in which he was named First Team ABCA/Rawlings Northeast All-Region after leading the Eagles in batting average (.354), hits (84), runs (57), and stolen bases (28). The sophomore finished second in program history for hits, stolen bases, and triples (5) in a single season. He had four games with multiple steals, including two where he had three steals, coming against FGCU (March 1) and Maine (April 21).

Back in April, Solier was named a Brooks Wallace Award Semifinalist, presented annually to the nation’s best shortstop. He was selected as the Brooks Wallace Award Player of the Week for the week of April 28th after hitting .571 with four RBI, three stolen bases, and his first career home run.
