The 2026 USA BMX Pro Series roared to life deep in the heart of Texas as the sport’s fastest riders lined up at H-Town BMX Supercross in Houston for the first pro showdown of the season at the USA BMX Lone Star Nationals.

With stacked gates across every pro class, the weekend set the tone for what looks to be an intense year of racing.

    Men Pro

Saturday’s opening round saw Olympic Champion Niek Kimmann remind everyone why he’s one of the sport’s most dangerous riders. The Dutch star powered to the Round 1 win ahead of Australia’s Izaac Kennedy, with France’s Sylvain Andre rounding out the podium. Americans Drew Polk and Kamren Larsen completed the top five while Colombia’s Mateo Carmona impressed in sixth. Local favorite Rayne Lankford brought the Houston crowd to life with a seventh-place finish.

Sunday flipped the script as Sylvain Andre stormed to the win in Round 2, avoiding the carnage that took out race leaders in turn 3. Switzerland’s Simon Marquart grabbed second while Mateo Carmona backed up his strong Saturday ride with a third. Polk remained consistent with another fourth-place finish, and New Zealand’s Rico Bearman cracked the top five. Kennedy, Saturday’s runner-up, crossed the line in eighth.

    Women Pro

Canada’s Molly Simpson opened the season strong by claiming the Round 1 victory. Australia’s Lauren Reynolds followed closely in second while Daleny Vaughn landed on the podium in third. Oklahoma’s Payton “P-Nut” Ridenour finished fourth, just off the podium. Sunday belonged to Ridenour. The Tulsa rider put together a clean main event to secure the Round 2 victory, with Reynolds once again taking second and Vaughn continuing her consistent weekend with another third-place finish. Simpson rounded out the top five after her Saturday win.

    ABA Futures Men

The next generation of pros put on a show all weekend. Illinois rider Marshall “Major” Gehrke captured the Round 1 win over Aidan Ragle, while Christopher Felker finished third. Round 2 saw Canada take over the podium as Zakary Kaiser led the way with the victory ahead of Aidan Ragle and Jakob Kaiser. The brothers from Ontario controlled the race from the start, while Arizona’s Cutter Godaire finished fourth.

Nevada’s Preslie “The Piston” Gould fired the first shot of the season with a Round 1 victory, beating Florida’s Alma Pineiro and Canada’s Laurianne Beland.

Sunday saw Pineiro turn the tables, grabbing the Round 2 win ahead of Texas standout Lily “Diamond Lil” Ashley and Montana’s Addison Thompson.

    Vet Pro

The Vet Pro class delivered tight racing as Chase Nobles opened the weekend with the Round 1 win over Oklahoma’s Nic Long and Corey Reid.

Reid came back strong on Sunday, taking the Round 2 victory ahead of Jeff “Big Jeff” Upshaw and Gilbert Contreras.

With the first weekend of the season complete, the 2026 USA BMX Pro Series is already shaping up to be unpredictable. International talent, rising rookies, and seasoned veterans all showed they’re ready for the long championship chase ahead. If Houston is any indication, fans are in for an electric season.
