    Ouch.

The Boston Bruins’ bid for a wildcard spot in the NHL Playoffs took a hit last night when the team lost on the road to the New Jersey Devils.

The game was tied 3-3 going into overtime, but the Devils scored with just seven seconds left in overtime.

The Bruins had led the game by 2-0 but watched the lead slip away.

The Bruins only have 16 games left on the regular season, and more than half of them are road games.

So, if the team can’t get its act together for away games, the playoff possibilities could slip away.

The first test is tonight (March 17, 2026) against the Montreal Canadiens, a team with a record of 36-20-10, while the Bruins’ record is 37-23-7.

The Canadiens are in third place in the Eastern Conference’s Atlantic Division while the Bruins are in fifth place in the same division.

Here’s how to watch tonight’s game.

What time does the Bruins game start?

    Puck-drop happens at 7 p.m. ET.

Where is the game being played?

It’s an away game, being played at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada.

How to watch tonight’s Bruins game

You can watch the game locally on NESN, or you can stream the game on ESPN+. Fans can also stream the game on FuboTV or NESN 360.

    Watch the game

The game will air nationally on ESPN, ESPN+ and Hulu.

People can listen to the game on 98.5 the Sports Hub, or via the station’s app.

Who do the Bruins play after they play the Canadiens?

On Thursday, March 19, 2026, the Bruins will take on the Winnipeg Jets at home at TD Garden in Boston at 7 p.m.
