FIFA’s first ticket draw since the announcement of the full 2026 FIFA World Cup schedule will open to the public Thursday.

The first two phases of FIFA’s ticketing process occurred prior to the full schedule release, so fans who bought tickets didn’t know who they would be seeing. Applicants also had to apply for the draw and, if selected, were given a time to buy tickets.

This ticketing draw, called the Random Selection Draw, works differently.

“Fans will be able to select which match(es), respective ticket category(ies) and number of tickets per match they would like to purchase, subject to household restrictions,” FIFA said in a November news release. “All successful and partially successful ticket applicants will receive communications via email and subsequently will be automatically charged for their tickets in February. A partially successful application indicates that a fan will receive the number of tickets requested to a match, but not all matches requested.”

This is the first time fans will be able to apply for tickets to individual matches during a FIFA ticket phase. Tickets are split into four categories. Category 1 features the most expensive tickets and Category 4 has the least expensive tickets. Only a small number of sections are in Category 4, according to maps on the FIFA website.

Applications are open through Jan. 13 at 10 a.m. Participating Member Association supporter tickets will also be available at this time for fans of particular teams.

The exact prices of the World Cup tickets in this latest draw is unknown. FIFA is utilizing dynamic pricing so tickets can fluctuate depending on demand.

Resale prices skyrocketed for Houston matches following the announcement of the official schedule Saturday.

Fans must have a FIFA ID in order to apply for tickets. The time an application is submitted won’t impact an applicant’s chance of success.

More than 2 million tickets have been sold through FIFA’s official channels through the first two ticket phases.

Houston is hosting seven World Cup matches next summer, including two matches featuring Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal and one Round of 16 match on July 4.

All but one of the matches will kick off at noon.
