    CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — The Boston College women’s hockey team struck first but couldn’t hold the lead on Friday night, falling 3–1 to UConn at Kelley Rink. Freshman Maxim Tremblay opened the scoring midway through the first period, finishing off a feed from Ava Thomas and Sammy Taber to put the Eagles ahead 1–0.

    UConn evened the score in the second period on a goal from Claire Murdoch, then took the lead late in the third when Sadie Hotles capitalized on a loose puck at 16:29. The Huskies sealed the win with an empty-netter at 19:04 to hand BC its second straight defeat.

    Boston College outshot UConn 32–16, generating consistent offensive pressure behind Thomas’ 12-shot performance. Grace Campbell made 13 saves in goal for the Eagles, while UConn’s Tia Chan stopped 31 of 32 shots to earn the victory.

    • Boston College held a 32–16 advantage in shots on goal.
    • The Eagles went 0-for-3 on the power play; UConn finished 0-for-4.
    • Grace Campbell made 13 saves for Boston College.
    • Ava Thomas led the team with 12 shots on goal and picked up her ninth assist of the season.
    • Sammy Taber added her sixth assist on the Tremblay goal.
