Drake Maye has put down his New England Patriots helmet and replaced it with a tin foil hat.
Fresh off the Patriots’ statement win over the Buffalo Bills to hand them their first-ever loss in their new stadium, Maye admitted he is not so sure that astronauts have landed on the moon, as he said he’s ‘skeptical’.
Maye — who admitted he needs to “look at himself in the mirror” after the team’s slow start to the season — appears to believe in the widely discussed theory that Stanley Kubrick, the legendary director of films such as 2001: A Space Odyssey and Barry Lyndon, was involved in staging the footage to appear real. It comes as Pat McAfee apologized to Caitlin Clark after a wardrobe malfunction live on ESPN.

Speaking on WEEI’s Rich and Ken with Ted Johnson show, Maye was asked about conspiracy theories.
He responded, “I don’t know about the moon, you know. I think I can see back in the day why we would put on the mass we went there, but I’m not really sure 200% if we went there or not. I wouldn’t say I’m leaning one way or the other. I just know I’m a little bit skeptical.”
Maye appeared to give credence to the theory that Kubrick was involved in a potential set-up of the moon landing.
He continued, “There’s so much literature out there. You know what? I’ll do, I’ll just forward it to you because I’ve read all of it. So it’s a, it’s a day. I, it’s not crazy. I absolutely believe we didn’t land on the moon.”
Interestingly, Maye admitted he was actually involved in a class at North Carolina which looked into conspiracy theories and explored their legitimacy.
He added, “I took a conspiracy class in college, actually. Oh, which was pretty cool. They study obviously – Hitler being alive and our birds real, some of the classic ones that you hear about.”
“Just like the government has a say in some of the, you know, things, you know, birds flying around and whether they’re videoing and are listening or something along the lines of that.”

The win over the Bills has probably afforded Maye to discuss such matters without being ridiculed, after his subpar start to the season this year.
Maye has thrown just four touchdowns in their first four games with seven interceptions and another fumble lost.
New England will face the 3-1 Las Vegas Raiders this weekend, before two favorable match-ups in the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins – both expected to struggle in the AFC East.
Meanwhile, Tony Romo is tipped for a quick NFL return after a dramatic CBS downfall following his OWI arrest.
