RALEIGH, N.C. – Boston College Volleyball (10-7, 1-5 ACC) fell to NC State (12-5, 3-3 ACC) in a four-set match (16-25, 21-25, 25-19, 18-25) on Sunday afternoon at Reynolds Coliseum.

Audrey Ross led all attackers with 19 kills on an efficient .395 hitting percentage, adding five digs and five blocks. Defensively, Brooklyn Yelland led the team with 14 digs and two service aces, while Naomi Watson dominated at the net with six blocks (one solo, five assists). Ava McBride and Lucie Vesela combined for 28 assists.

Boston College started strong in the opening set, jumping out to an early 5-1 lead fueled by blocks from Reese Dunkle, Isabelle Poehlein, Ross, and Watson. NC State answered with a 7-1 surge to take an 8-7 lead, then used a 10-1 run to build an 18-9 advantage. Kills from Ross and Dunkle kept the Eagles fighting late, but NC State closed out the frame 25-16 to take the match lead.

The second set featured early back-and-forth play as a Yelland service ace gave Boston College a 2-1 lead. The Wolfpack responded with a four-point run to take a 7-4 lead, then extended their cushion to 11-6. Kills from Ross, Poehlein, and Sam Hoppes kept the Eagles within striking distance throughout the frame, and late kills from Ross and Mia Gold trimmed the deficit to 24-21. However, NC State held on to secure the set 25-21.

Trailing 5-3 early in the third set, the Eagles launched a 5-1 run highlighted by an Ava McBride service ace and a Watson solo block to jump ahead 8-6. Boston College expanded its lead to 14-10 with kills from Sofija Marjanovic and Ross, along with another Watson block. A Yelland ace stretched the margin to 20-16, and Ross put down three late kills to help the Eagles take the set 25-19 and extend the match.

Boston College grabbed early momentum in the fourth frame, taking a 4-1 lead after a Dunkle kill, a Watson/Hoppes block assist, and a Vesela service ace. NC State fought back to tie 6-6, and the sides traded points through a 12-12 tie. From there, the Wolfpack seized control with a 5-0 run to pull ahead 17-12. Ross delivered late kills to keep the Eagles close, but NC State held off the rally, winning 25-18 to seal the four-set win.
