CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College Volleyball (10-4, 1-2 ACC) fell in straight sets (15-25, 12-25, 24-26) to No. 2 Pittsburgh (13-0, 3-0 ACC) on Friday night at the Margot Connell Recreation Center.

Audrey Ross led the offense for Boston College, posting a match-high 18 kills while hitting .275. Defensively, Brooklyn Yelland recorded a team-best 11 digs, while Naomi Watson anchored the net with four blocks (one solo, three assists). Setting duties were split between Lucie Vesela (11 assists), Ava McBride (eight assists), and Lucy Mott (five assists).

Pittsburgh used an early spark to take control of the first set. Boston College stayed close early, tying the score at 4-4 and 6-6 after kills from Ross and Sam Hoppes, along with a combined block from Watson and Sofija Marjanovic. However, Pitt went on a decisive 10-0 run to pull ahead 17-6. Boston College then responded with a 5-0 run, powered by three kills from Hoppes and two from Ross, to cut the deficit to 17-11, but the Panthers held on to secure the opening set, 25-15.

In the second set, the Eagles took a quick 1-0 lead on a Reese Dunkle kill, but Pitt answered with a 6-1 surge. BC fought back within a point at 10-9 following a 4-0 run that included a Vesela service ace, a Ross kill, and a Watson block. From there, Pittsburgh took control of the set, using a 15-3 run to seal the set, 25-12, and take a 2-0 match advantage.

Pitt took an early advantage in the third set, but Boston College responded. Trailing 10-7, the Eagles launched a 5-0 run sparked by back-to-back blocks from Dunkle and Laney Blevins, consecutive kills by Ross, and an ace from Marjanovic to grab a 12-10 lead. BC pushed its advantage to 16-13 following a solo block by Ross and extended it to 23-19 after a Watson/Dunkle block assist. Pitt rallied with four straight points to tie the frame at 23-23 before an error gave BC set point at 24-23. The Panthers answered with three consecutive points to claim the set 26-24 and complete the match sweep.
