They’re off and running.
High school football from across the Bay State kicked off this past week, and in style, too. There were several noteworthy performances from Week 1, including a pair of 200-yard rushers in a game that featured 109 points.
Here are some of the top showings from this week’s slate of games:
DIV. 1
— Caden Smith had 19 carries for 138 yards and two touchdowns while also going 5-of-9 passing for 52 yards in Central Catholic’s 34-0 victory over BC High
— Dayvian Sullivan secured two fourth-quarter interceptions, including a pick-six, to lead St. John’s Prep to a 29-14 win over Springfield Central.
— Matt Sherry went 13-of-19 passing for 93 yards while rushing for 39 yards and a touchdown in Durfee’s 12-9 victory over Attleboro.
DIV. 2
— Gavin Brown had 14 carries for 111 yards and a touchdown while adding two interceptions in North Quincy’s 20-13 win over Cohasset. Connor Lynch notably had a 95-yard kick return touchdown that was the game-winner.
— Cam Croom had 14 carries for 101 yards and a touchdown while Brett Moran had a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in Westford Academy’s 33-26 victory over Lowell.
— Jackson Gearin rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns while adding 10 tackles and an interception on defense in Billerica’s 34-0 win over Masconomet.
DIV. 3
— Jayden McGuffie ran for 175 yards and a touchdown while James Powers went 8-of-11 passing for 175 yards and three touchdowns and Jemiah Charles had four catches for 100 yards and three touchdowns in Malden’s 26-20 victory over Lynn Tech.
— Sammy Tshimuanga had three rushing touchdowns in Boston Latin’s 35-6 win over East Boston.
— Senior quarterback Gio Scarpellini compiled 146 yards from scrimmage while running for a touchdown and throwing for a score in Mansfield’s 19-0 win over Bridgewater-Raynham.
— Felipe Pinheiro had 95 rushing yards and two touchdowns while Jackson Khoury rushed for 77 yards and two touchdowns in Barnstable’s 34-20 victory over Brockton.
— Liam Merrigan went 10-of-13 passing for 167 yards and two touchdowns while Justin Kosierowski had 13 carries for 80 yards and three touchdowns in Hingham’s 35-0 win over Hanover.
DIV. 4
— Paul McGrath had two catches for 108 yards and two touchdowns in Holliston’s 17-8 victory over Canton
— Mikey Johansson went 7-of-9 passing for 110 yards and three touchdowns while adding 92 yards on three rushes in Wayland’s 35-0 win over Hopkinton. Aidan Curry had four catches for 91 yards and caught all three touchdown passes.
— Tyler Stelljes had nine rushes for 59 yards and a touchdown while going 10-of-14 passing for 100 yards and two touchdowns in Scituate’s 21-0 victory over Duxbury.
— Will Harrison went 9-of-13 passing for 152 yards while scoring four total touchdowns and also securing an interception in Tewksbury’s 41-14 win over Foxboro.
DIV. 5
— Jameson O’Keefe had 21 carries for 156 yards and two touchdowns in Swampscott’s 31-6 victory over St. Mary’s (Lynn).
— Ted Oleyer had nine rushes for 104 yards while adding four catches for 29 yards and two total touchdowns in Dover-Sherborn’s 20-16 win over Southeastern. Cash Baer led the defense with seven tackles
— Aidan Donnelly had 13 carries for 166 yards and two touchdowns while Jackson Ponte had four carries for 80 yards and three touchdowns in Fairhaven’s 39-7 victory over Somerset Berkley.
— Isaiah Robles rushed for 213 yards and four touchdowns while Lucas DeOliveira rushed for 207 yards and three touchdowns in Northeast’s 64-45 win over Bishop Fenwick.
DIV. 6
— Spencer Brown threw for 150 yards and a touchdown; James Pasquale had 70 receiving yards and a touchdown while Lucas Deraps rushed for 130 yards and a touchdown in Lynnfield’s 14-8 win over Amesbury.
— Anthony Barrasso kicked a 35-yard field goal, caught a 60-yard touchdown pass and secured an interception on defense in Bellingham’s 24-7 victory over Woburn.
— Benji Baptiste had 26 carries for 143 yards and a touchdown while adding an 86-yard kick return touchdown in Old Rochester’s 27-13 win over Plymouth North. Logan Hiles led the defense with 13 tackles, one sack and one forced fumble.
DIV. 7
— Kyle Triveri went 10-of-17 passing for 140 yards and two touchdowns while Jayden Williams scored two total touchdowns in Mashpee’s 38-12 victory over Martha’s Vineyard.
DIV. 8
— Will Ciavarro had 18 carries for 210 yards and two touchdowns in Old Colony’s 22-19 victory over Seekonk.
