The Eagles opened the scoring just under eight minutes into the match when Georgina Clarke found the back of the net at 7:57. Ashley Roberts was credited with the assist, giving Boston College an early 1-0 advantage.
Boston College carried the one-goal lead into halftime before Sophie Reale doubled the Eagles’ advantage in the 58th minute. Reale scored her fourth goal of the season on an unassisted effort to give BC a 2-0 lead.
The Eagles finished the match with a 14-6 advantage in shots and held a 4-2 edge in shots on goal. Boston College also earned four corner kicks compared to five for Syracuse.
Olivia Shippee made three saves in goal to record her first shutout of the season and improve to 3-0-0. The Eagles’ defense limited Syracuse to just three shots on goal across the 90 minutes.
With the victory, Boston College earned its first win in its opening ACC match since 2018.
