NEWTON, Mass. – Boston College men’s soccer team tied with St. Bonaventure, 2-2, in a non-conference match-up on Tuesday afternoon at the Newton Soccer Complex.
Michael Asare and Bryan Toro each scored their second goals of the year, while Christian Bejar had his first assist of the season as the Eagles rallied from a goal down twice.
St. Bonaventure struck first in the 28th minute when the Bonnies striker got in behind the Eagles’ backline to chip in a shot.
Asare tied things at one in the 59th minute when he one-timed a cross in from Bejar for his second of the year.
St. Bonaventure retook the lead in the 68th minute when they redirected a free kick into the near side.
Toro scored just three minutes later after Bejar was fouled just outside the box. Toro then slotted the ball into the far corner off the ensuing free kick.
The two teams were evenly matched, despite Boston College leading in corners (9-2) and shots on goal (6-2).
Boston College is back in action on Saturday at 7 p.m. when they host Syracuse in their ACC Home Opener. The game will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra.
