We are officially under two weeks away from Boston College kicking off the 2026 season.

Is this a good thing, Eagles fans?

Of course. Football season is always an exciting time, especially in the Northeast when the weather changes and we enter the best time of the year. On the field, there are many questions that head coach Bill O’Brien and Boston College will need to answer.

There are low expectations for the Eagles this season after a two-win campaign in 2025. Boston College will open the season on the road against Cincinnati on Saturday, Sept. 5.

What we know to this point — the Eagles are underdogs. Cincinnati is currently a 7.5-point favorite and that number has held true for weeks now.

The question remains, is there a chance that Boston College begins the season with an upset victory? We will have to wait until game day to get an answer to that question. If you want to wager on your Eagles, it might be a good spot early in the year.

Boston College enters the game with the number just over a touchdown, but many seem to believe that the Eagles might keep this game close.

Based on a very small sample size, that we will revisit during game week, there is early money on the Eagles and the 7.5 points.

According to FanDuel Sportsbook, 66% of the money is going on Boston College +7.5. Also, 65% of the bets have been on that side as well. On DraftKings, just 4% of bets are on Boston College’s moneyline, but a massive 80% is on the spread in favor of the Eagles.

Is this an early chance to make some money on Boston College? Eagles fans, how do we feel about your team in the first game of the season?
