CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College women’s basketball freshman Daniele Paunksnyte turned in an outstanding performance with the U20 Lithuanian National Team at the FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket, earning All-Star Five honors as one of the tournament’s top five players.
Paunksnyte averaged a team-high 20.6 points per game, ranking third in the tournament. She also paced Lithuania with 6.0 assists per game, which ranked third overall, while averaging 6.0 rebounds to finish third on the team.
The Lithuanian guard scored in double figures in six of seven games, including four 20-point performances. Her top outing came against Turkey, when she poured in 34 points on 9-of-18 shooting, knocked down seven of her 12 attempts from 3-point range, and added six rebounds and eight assists. She closed the tournament with a double-double against Poland, recording 22 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists.
Paunksnyte also led Lithuania with a 21.0 efficiency rating while shooting better than 40 percent from the field, 42.1 percent from 3-point range, and 82.4 percent from the free-throw line.
