A North Carolina judge has issued an order for the arrest of Jen Belichick, according to a report from the California Post.

Jennifer Schmitt Belichick, 36, is former Patriots head coach Bill Belichick’s daughter-in-law. She is married to his son, Steve.

According to the report, she received a citation for misdemeanor speeding. Police said Belichick was going 88 miles per hour in a 70 mile per hour zone in Brunswick County.

She was ordered to appear in front of the judge this past Friday, but reportedly did not show up.

Belichick can either turn herself in, hire an attorney, or file a motion to recall the order, an official told the California post.

Bill Belichick has been head coach of the University of North Carolina football program since December of 2024. UNC signed him to a 5-year, $50 million deal, making him the highest-paid public employee in the state of North Carolina. UNC went 4-8 under Belichick last season.

Steve Belichick is UNC’s defensive coordinator. UNC gave up 24.5 points per game, which was eighth in the ACC. He had previously worked on his father’s staff with the Patriots as a linebackers coach.

The Patriots and Bill Belichick parted ways after the 2023 season after back-to-back 4-13 finishes.

The Brunswick County courthouse is in Bolivia N.C., about a two-and-a-half hour drive from Chapel Hill. It is a part of the Wilmington, N.C. metro area.
