CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.  – Boston College women’s basketball incoming freshman Eunicia Salgado will compete with the U18 Canadian National Team in the upcoming FIBA U18 Women’s AmeriCup 2026.

The team trained at Humber College in Toronto from May 30 to June 5 before travelling to Irapuato, Mexico for the AmeriCup tournament.

The seven-day event will take place at the Inforum Irapuato, featuring Argentina, Canada, the Dominican Republic, Paraguay, Puerto Rico, the United States, Venezuela, and host nation Mexico.

Fourth berths are at stake for the FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2027.

Salgado, a 6-1 forward from Boucherville, Quebec, was ranked the seventh-best recruit from Canada.

She helped her team capture the Grind Session Women’s World Title with Canada in 2024-25, becoming the first Canadian team to bring home a world title. She also claimed a WNPA national title and was an RSEQ First-Team All-Star and the 2024 RSEQ Most Valuable Player.

Canada is currently ranked 3rd overall in the FIBA women’s age-group rankings, presented by Nike.
