Will Campbell didn’t get a Super Bowl ring — but he will getting a different kind of one.
The Patriots’ top draft pick got engaged to girlfriend Ashlynn Nussmeier over the weekend, she announced on her Instagram Story.
Campbell and Nussmeier went public with their relationship in April 2025, the same month that the former LSU star was drafted with the fourth overall pick by New England.
Nussmeier is the daughter of former NFL quarterback Doug Nussmeier, who played in the 1990s with the Saints, Broncos, Colts and Bears.
He is currently the offensive coordinator for the Saints under head coach Kellen Moore.
Ashlynn’s brother, Garrett, was drafted in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL Draft last month by the Chiefs after playing at LSU.
“She’s amazing,” Campbell told US Weekly of Nussmeier last year. “She has a football background, so she knows what it takes, the sacrifices that have to be made. If she wasn’t as good with that type of stuff, I’m sure it would be a lot more difficult. But she’s a rock star.”
She supported Campbell though an up-and-down rookie season, which ended with the Patriots losing to the Seahawks in Super Bowl 2026 as Seattle’s defense overwhelmed New England in a 29-13 game.

Campbell was having a solid season protecting Drake Maye’s blind side until he suffered a knee injury in late November.
The 22-year-old returned for the regular season finale but was not the same player he was from earlier in the season.

Campbell revealed after the season that he tore a ligament in his knee on top of a Grade 3 MCL sprain.
“It obviously wasn’t 100%,” Campbell told reporters. “I mean, I don’t think when you tear a ligament in your knee, it’s not going to be how it was before, but I was healthy enough to go. I’m not going to say that it held me back, but yeah, it wasn’t the same as it was before, obviously. But I was good.”
