LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ) – Despite running out of steam in the Conference USA finals, Liberty will have another chance to show they belong with the best teams.
The Flames (41-19) received an at large bid to the NCAA tournament, and will travel to the Athens, GA regional to face Boston College (36-21) Friday afternoon.
The 2026 Flames became the fourth team in program history to win 41 or more games in a season. The last to win 41 games was the 2019 team, which tied the school record with 43 wins. The 2010 (43), 2013 (41) and 2014 (41) teams also won 41 or more games in a season.
Liberty advanced to its first CUSA Championship game, and their first conference championship contest since 2022.
Georgia (46-12) and Long Island (30-20) round out the Athens regional.
