Amid the proms and graduations, the high school postseason is about to launch into full swing with the upcoming releases of the rest of the MIAA’s tournament brackets. And there’s no better way to stay on top of the previews, scores, and stories than by reading the Globe’s high school coverage.
And speaking of excellent sports writing . . . here’s the final call for entries into the 2026 Will McDonough sports writing contest. Deadline is Wednesday (May 27).
The contest is again free to enter and open to any high school student (in grades 9-12). Taking part is easy: First, an adult (18+) must fill out this info form HERE, and then entries can be emailed to McDonoughcontest@globe.com.
Aside from the tournament stories, there will be plenty of pictures, too — perhaps including some snapped by high school photographers taking part in the Globe’s unique sports photojournalism program. Some of them are on display below in this week’s photo gallery. Enjoy!
