CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Theodor Schucht, Colin Peattie, and Mateo Bianchi of the Boston College Men’s Track and Field qualified for the 2026 NCAA Division I East First Round, hosted at the UK Outdoor Track & Field Complex in Lexington, Kentucky. Action begins on Wednesday, May 27, and can be seen on ESPN+.

The top 12 competitors from each individual event and the top 12 teams from each relay event advance from each first round.

Schucht is set to compete in the 5000m Semifinal on Friday, May 29, at 8:10 p.m. EST. He enters with the 19th-fastest time in the East Region, 13:36.47. The sophomore from Berlin, Germany, set that mark at last week’s ACC Championships, crossing the line in seventh place to extend his school record time. Schucht raced in last year’s 5000m East Regional, where he finished in 17th place overall. He will look to become the first athlete since 1986, and just the second in program history, to reach the NCAA Championships in the 5000m.

Peattie races in the First Round of the 1500m on Wednesday, May 27, at 6:30 p.m. EST. He qualified for his first NCAA Regional after setting a personal best time of 3:41.17 in the 1500m. The Los Gatos, California native set that mark in his preliminary race at the 2026 ACC Outdoor Championships, earning a spot in the Final. He set the sixth fastest earlier this outdoor season at Penn Relays, later moving into fourth with his personal best time at ACCs. Peattie looks to join Steven Jackson as the only Eagles to reach Oregon in the 1500m.

Bianchi will race in the 3000m Steeplechase Quarterfinal on Friday, May 29, at 5:40 p.m. EST. He will also compete in his first NCAA Regional, qualifying with the 43rd-fastest time in the East Region. The Laguna Beach, California, native recorded the mark of 8:49.94 at the ACC Championships on May 15, earning All-ACC honors and improving on the school record he set earlier this season. Bianchi will attempt to be the first athlete in program history to qualify for the NCAA Championships in the 3000m Steeplechase.
