Team USA honors late NHL star Johnny Gaudreau after Olympic gold win
After winning Olympic gold, Team USA hockey honored late NHL star Johnny Gaudreau by carrying his jersey and inviting his kids onto the ice.
The defending champion United States has a chance to move up in its group standings when it faces Finland at the men’s hockey world championships.
The fourth-place Team USA has three points at the tournament after a 3-1 loss to Switzerland in the opener and a 5-1 win against Great Britain.
Finland has six points after two regulation victories in its first two games. Since the first tiebreaker is head-to-head competition, the USA would hold the edge if it beats the Finns in regulation on Monday, May 18.
Austria and host Switzerland, playing later Monday, also have six points. Each team plays seven preliminary round games and the top four teams in each group advance to the quarterfinals.
