    Rowing Closes Day 1 at ACC Championships

    RALEIGH, N.C. – The Boston College rowing team closed day one at ACC Championships Friday morning at Lake Wheeler.
     
    “Some good pieces this morning in an incredibly competitive field,” said head coach Grace Hollowell. “We are excited to have our best piece of the year tomorrow and show the work and effort this team has put in over the last eight months as a group. Looking forward to going stroke for stroke and continuing to push our speed!”
     
    The Eagles opened the day in the Third Varsity Eight, placing fifth in a strong field with a time of 6:56.930. Stanford won the heat in 6:28.410, followed by Virginia and Syracuse.
     
    In the First Varsity Eight, Boston College clocked a 6:35.890 to finish sixth. Stanford again led the field at 6:07.550, while Syracuse and Duke rounded out the top three.
     
    The Eagles’ Second Varsity Eight posted a sixth-place finish in 6:49.630. Stanford captured the event in 6:13.990, ahead of Syracuse and Miami.
     
    Boston College turned in a fifth-place finish in the Varsity Four with a time of 7:20.390, finishing ahead of SMU. Stanford crossed first in 6:52.470, followed by Syracuse and Notre Dame.
     
    The Eagles closed the morning in the Second Varsity Four, finishing sixth in 7:50.590. Stanford won the race with a time of 7:03.280, with Syracuse and Notre Dame taking the next two spots.
     
    The Eagles will race again tomorrow in the finals. Racing will begin at 8:05 a.m. and ending around 9:55 a.m.
