AMHERST, Mass. – Massachusetts football held its annual spring game on Saturday afternoon at McGuirk Alumni Stadium.
Gameday Notes
- Former Minuteman and current Minnesota Vikings defensive back, Isaiah Rodgers, served as the honorary captain for the game and met with the team prior to the start of the game.
- The team played a pair of live, 15-minute running time quarters of offense versus defense while mixing in several other segments.
- Prior to the live segment, there was a moment of silence in honor of Emma MacDonald, a dedicated member of the UMass Dining staff and a beloved member of the UMass community.
- Transfer quarterback and Pop Watson III ran for a touchdown on the game’s first drive.
- Other highlights included two Raheim Sexil interceptions, and a long touchdown pass from Will Perry to Kezion Dia-Johnson.
- Justin Williams-Thomas and RJ Johnson III TD also rushed for touchdowns.
- More than 100 alumni and families returned for the weekend, highlighted by a well-attended pregame dinner the night before to support the program leading into the spring game.
