    Birdball Travels to Notre Dame

    CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — No. 22 Boston College Baseball travels to Notre Dame this weekend for a three-game series against the Fighting Irish beginning Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Frank Eck Baseball Stadium.

    Record vs Notre Dame

    Boston College is 23-40 all-time against Notre Dame with a 6-22 road record. The Eagles took two of three from the Fighting Irish when the two teams met at Harrington Athletics Village in April 2025. BC defeated Notre Dame in the first round of the 2025 ACC Tournament, winning 5-4 in extra innings.

    Scouting the Fighting Irish

    Notre Dame is 18-18 this season with a 7-14 ACC record. The Fighting Irish halted their three-game losing streak with a 3-2 non-conference win at Michigan State on Wednesday evening. Notre Dame is 1-11 in its last 12 ACC games.

    Mark Quatrani leads Notre Dame in home runs with 11, good for 15th in the ACC, while Bino Watters has a team-high .362 batting average and 54 hits. On the mound, Jack Radel has made 10 starts and has a 4-3 record with 57.1 innings pitched and a 3.61 ERA.

    The Matchups

    On Friday, A.J. Colarusso and Jack Radel will face off to begin the series. Colarusso is 4-1 this year in 10 starts. He has an ERA of 3.25 to go with 45 strikeouts. Colarusso made his 44th career start this past weekend, setting a new program record. He pitched all seven innings of the 11-1 win over Duke, allowing just three hits for one run along with four strikeouts. Radel is 4-2 this season in 10 starts. He has posted an ERA of 3.61 and 69 strikeouts. His last start came against Florida State, where he went three innings allowing seven hits and six earned runs without a strikeout. 

    Saturday will feature Brady Miller against Xavier Hirsch. Miller has started eight games this year and has a 1-0 record. Through 39.2 innings of work, he has 41 strikeouts which is good for second on the Eagles. In his last start, Miller picked up first win of the year after throwing 6.2 innings with just two runs allowed and eight strikeouts as BC defeated Duke 4-2. Hirsch is 2-3 in two starts while appearing 10 times this year. He has a 5.23 ERA to go with 30 strikeouts. He last started against Florida State, where he went five innings with eight strikeouts while allowing two earned runs. 

    On Sunday, Boston College’s starter is Tyler Mudd with Notre Dame being TBA. Mudd 10 starts this season with a 3-3 record. Over 45.0 innings pitched, Mudd has 26 strikeouts and a 4.40 ERA. In his last start, Mudd had 5.0 innings of work against Duke in game two of a doubleheader, allowing four runs on six hits with two strikeouts. ‘

    Last Time Out

    The Eagles saw their seven-game winning streak come to an end, falling to Maine on Tuesday by a score of 6-4. Julio Solier went 3-5 from the plate with one RBI and three stolen bases. Nick Wang went 2-2 with two walks, two RBI and one sacrifice fly to bring his season total to eight, which marks the most in a single season in program history.

    Up Next

    The Eagles travel to UMass Lowell on Tuesday for a non-conference matchup. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on America East TV.
