Two state business development officials visited Taunton recently to tour two manufacturers in the Myles Standish Industrial Park.

Zenobia Moochhala, undersecretary of business strategies for Massachusetts, and Jennifer Menard, SouthCoast regional director for the Office of Business Development, visited FUCHS Group and IQE, according to a community announcement.

FUCHS, a lubricant manufacturer, employs 40 people in Taunton and is planning a grand opening in August. The company’s products are used in Mars exploration, including the Perseverance Rover, and the Artemis II space mission.

IQE, which employs 60 people, develops and manufactures advanced semiconductor wafer products used in a variety of devices, from phones to cars.

The visit was welcomed by Taunton Mayor Shaunna O’Connell and OECD Director Jay Pateakos.

The city expressed appreciation for the officials’ visit, according to the announcement.
