A 45-year-old Massachusetts man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly hreatening to torture and kill President Trump.

The United States Attorney’s Office said Andrew D. Emerald used Facebook to threaten the president eight times between between May 2025 to July 2025. The suspect lives in Great Barrington, just minutes from New York’s northern border.

Emerald’s unhinged posts reference Trump as “the orange menace,” “the enemy of the United States” and “a monster to f—ing humanity.”

He asked in a May 13, 2025 post if the FBI and other government organizations that might come to speak with him are clear about his intentions.

“Either Trump is dead and in the ground by 2026 or I am hunting him down and putting him there,” that message said.

The suspect allegedly threatened to go to Florida and burn down President Trump’s Mar-a-lago home with him inside the property, as well as hanging him from the Statue of Liberty “until his pathetic bloated corpse rots off [and] falls in the ocean.”

Emerald’s last threat on Trump’s life was posted July 7, 2025.

“I’m coming for you personally and if I’m the one that kills you, you’re gonna suffer you little f—–g b—h,” it allegedly read.

If convicted on charges of interstate transmission of threatening communications, Emerald could serve up to five years in prison. A fine of up to $250,000 is also possible.

The Justice Department gave no indication the President’s life was in danger at any point. He’s to give a 9 p.m. national address Wednesday that’s expected to address military strikes the U.S. has made on Iran over the past month.
