Chestnut Hill, Mass. – The Boston College softball team (11-23, 2-7 ACC) heads back to ACC competition this weekend in Atlanta, Ga. as they take on Georgia Tech starting Friday at 6 p.m. at Mewborn Field. All three games of the series will be broadcast on ACCNX.

    Last Time Out

Boston College bounced back in the midweek, taking down Providence College 10–7 on the road in comeback fashion. Adriana Martinez and Abby Ptak each launched their fifth home run of the season, helping power the Eagles’ offense. BC totaled 12 hits in the win, marking their 10th game with double-digit hits this season and their seventh contest with multiple home runs.

The Eagles are coming off their home opener at Harrington Athletic Village, where they faced No. 12 Virginia Tech. BC dropped all three games in the series. A highlight from the weekend came in game two, when Martinez delivered a two-run home run.

    PTAK ATTACK!

Ptak is leading the team in multiple offensive categories, including batting average (.422), slugging percentage (.679), doubles (11), and total hits (46). She is currently tied for 10th in the ACC in doubles this season. Ptak has also been reliable game-to-game, recording 16 multi-hit performances.

    AD! AD!

Martinez continues to swing a hot bat for Boston College, extending her hitting streak to eight games after batting .500 over the past four contests. She has now tallied five home runs on the season, highlighted by a grand slam in the Eagles’ win over Pitt. Martinez has also been a consistent run producer, recording five multi-RBI games so far this year.

    Good Knight

Freshman Emma Knight is off to an impressive start to her collegiate career, leading the team with 30 RBI while adding 31 hits on the season. Following the UNC series, Knight etched her name into the record books as just the sixth Eagle to hit two home runs in a single game. She also recorded seven RBI in that game, tying Hall of Famer Tatiana Cortez for the program mark, last achieved in 2017. Knight has totaled a team-high eight home runs so far this season.

    Scouting Georgia Tech

Boston College heads into its matchup with Georgia Tech with a series history of 17–37 all-time against GT, with their last win in the series coming in 2023.

Georgia Tech enters the weekend 5–10 in ACC play, highlighted by a series sweep over Notre Dame and picking up single wins against ranked No. 25 Clemson and No. 14 Virginia in March. However, the Yellow Jackets are coming off an ACC series sweep by Louisville.

They did bounce back midweek with a 15–3 win over Mercer, powered by a big night from Gracyn Tucker, who went 3-for-3 with two home runs, four runs scored, and six RBI. Tucker has been a key piece in Tech’s lineup, recently recording her 100th career hit and currently riding a nine-game hitting streak.

Offensively, Georgia Tech has seven players batting over .300, led by Alyssa Willer at a .385 average. In the circle, Madalyn Johnson has carried the bulk of the workload, logging 110 innings pitched so far this season with an ERA of 3.69.

    UP NEXT

Boston College opens its longest home stretch of the season on Tuesday at 4 p.m. against the UConn Huskies, before welcoming Syracuse and No. 23 Duke for back-to-back weekend series.

The Syracuse series will also feature two special events at Harrington Athletic Village. Saturday’s 3 p.m. game will be followed by the program’s first-ever Hit-A-Thon, while Sunday will host the Eagles’ annual Strikeout Cancer Game.
