CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Boston College lacrosse swept the ACC weekly awards, as Giulia Colarusso (co-offensive) and Shea Dolce (defensive) were recognized by the league office for their performances in a 13-11 win over Stanford on Thursday.

It’s the first weekly award for Colarusso and the fourth for Dolce, and the first of the season for the Eagles.

Colarusso tied a team best with four points, thanks to three goals and an assist with a game-high seven draw controls, tying a personal best. The sophomore attacker played a key role in both points, scoring and assisting on back-to-back scores in the fourth quarter that gave BC a commanding 11-9 edge. Colarusso collected two pivotal draw controls after Stanford cut the deficit to one and after BC sealed the game with

a late score. The Leominster, Mass. native is tied for the team lead with 28 goals, tied for second with 36 points and is second with 40 draw controls.

She recently helped BC earn a 22-5 win over UAlbany, scoring five points with a second straight hat trick and two helpers.

Dolce totaled 11 saves with a .500 save percentage and three ground balls. Eight of her saves in the win came in the second half, highlighted by the pivotal save in the fourth quarter with two minutes left that kept the score 12-11 in the Eagles’ favor. It was the fourth game with 10-plus saves this season, while she is first in the ACC and third in the nation among active players with 604 career saves.

Against the Great Danes, she became one of two players (Megan McElgovue) to reach 600 career saves after posting nine stops and a .562 save percentage.

The duo and the Eagles travel to Baltimore, Md. to face No. 15 Loyola Maryland on Saturday at 3 p.m.
