    Sugar Ray Leonard & 1976 Olympic Team Named 2026 Parade of Champions Grand Marshal

    CANASTOTA, N.Y. — Boxing fans, get ready for the Parade of Champions. The International Boxing Hall of Fame announced Sugar Ray Leonard and the legendary 1976 U.S. Olympic Boxing Team will be this year’s grand marshal. 

    The team will lead the Parade of Champions as Grand Marshal on Sunday, June 14, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their Olympic triumphs.

    Joining Leonard will be gold medalists Michael Spinks and Leo Randolph, silver medalist Charles Mooney and team member Chuck Walker. The team is renowned for winning seven medals at the 1976 Olympic Games.

    “The Hall of Fame is beyond thrilled to welcome the iconic 1976 U.S. Olympic Boxing Team,” said Executive Director Edward Brophy. Sugar Ray Leonard expressed his excitement, saying, “Words can’t fully describe the pride and joy I felt being part of that incredible Olympic team.”

    The team will lead the Parade of Champions as Grand Marshal on Sunday, June 14, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their Olympic triumphs.



    The parade, featuring bands, floats and community groups, kicks off at noon on June 14. The celebration will continue throughout the Hall of Fame Weekend, June 11-14, with events in Canastota and at the nearby Turning Stone Resort Casino.
